Pillar 4 – Leading by example: Acting and collaborating to strengthen communities
Context
The Government of Canada is a leader in matters related to advancing the official languages and supporting official language minority communities (OLMCs) in Canada. It demonstrates this leadership by working to empower OLMCs through an approach that emphasizes action “by and for” those communities. It further demonstrates this leadership by investing in its solid partnership with the provinces and territories in areas of intergovernmental cooperation, a partnership that dates back more than 50 years. The Government is committed to implementing the measures proposed in Pillar 4 – Leading by example: Acting and collaborating to strengthen communities.
