Competition Bureau fulfills its 2015-2018 Strategic Vision

Three-year plan focused on delivering the benefits of a competitive marketplace to Canadians
May 25, 2018 – OTTAWA, ON – Competition Bureau
The Competition Bureau issued an impact report today highlighting key results achieved for Canadians by delivering on its 2015-2018 Strategic Vision.
Highlights include an estimated $8.4 billion in consumer savings, more than $19 million in customer restitution, and more than $60 million in fines and penalties imposed by the courts for anti-competitive conduct and deceptive marketing practices.
The report provides a summary of accomplishments under the five strategic objectives that guided the Bureau’s work from 2015-2018. These include increasing compliance with Canada’s competition laws, empowering Canadian consumers, promoting competition, collaborating with domestic and international partners, and championing organizational excellence.
