Biography

Evelyn Ayre earned her Master of Art Conservation (Artifacts) at Queen’s University in 2013 and her Bachelor of Fine Arts with distinction in Studio Arts at Concordia University in 2005. She has treated delicate entomological collections, diverse Canadian historical objects, archaeological gold at the Staffordshire Hoard in England and objects on display at the Canada Science and Technology Museum.
Evelyn joined the Canadian Conservation Institute in 2013 and has worked in various capacities on comprehensive collection risk assessments, workshop development and instruction. She has also provided client services and advice and has lead content development for video projects about the museum environment. She became a preventive conservation advisor in 2017.
