Janet Kepkiewicz graduated with a B.A. (Hons) in Canadian History with a minor in visual arts from the University of Western Ontario. Later, she earned a diploma in Applied Museum Studies at Algonquin College. Janet has over 20 years’ experience in the management and preservation of cultural resources. Between 2003 and 2015, Janet was the Collections Manager at Library and Archives Canada, where she was responsible for the preservation management of documentary art, photographic and philatelic collections. During her tenure, Janet managed preservation projects, contributed to the development of guidelines on the handling, use and storage of archival collections, conducted surveys on photographic collections, and developed and delivered training in handling and storage. In 2015, Janet accepted the position of Senior Collections Management Advisor at the Canadian Conservation Institute. She provides guidance in the life cycle management of heritage assets and built heritage components for federal departments.
