Biography
Janet Wagner studied clothing and textiles at the University of Alberta, Edmonton (B.Sc.), and Museum Studies, Textile Conservation, at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York. She was a participant in the Canadian Conservation Institute’s (CCI’s) Conservation Fellowship Program. Janet works as a conservator in the CCI textile laboratory, where she has undertaken the conservation of a variety of textiles including costumes, flags, military tunics, quilts, hooked rugs and upholstery. Along with her colleagues, she presents workshops on mannequin-making and care of textiles to museums across Canada, and she mentors interns in the textile laboratory.
