Biography

Simon Lambert earned a B.A. in Art History and Italian Literature from McGill University, a B.A. in Paintings Conservation from the University of Urbino, Italy, and an M.Sc. in Care of Collections from Cardiff University, UK. He is a Commonwealth Scholar and recipient of a 2010 Icon Conservation Award from the Institute of Conservation. After completing his studies, he worked as a consultant for ICCROM (International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property), where he assisted in the coordination of international conservation training activities; he also worked on developing RE-ORG, a method for reorganizing storage in small to medium-sized museums.
In 2012, Simon joined the Canadian Conservation Institute (CCI), where, for eight years, he conducted interdisciplinary research, provided assessments, offered training and coordinated CCI’s RE-ORG: Canada training program. He is currently the Manager of the Preventive Conservation Division. Simon is also an accredited member of the Canadian Association of Professional Conservators – Preventive Conservation.
