Snapshot of federal correctional institutions:

 

  • CSC manages approximately 12,736 inmates in 43 correctional institutions across the country. 
  • Inmate testing results available online.
  • Conducted over 1600 contact tracing events.
  • CORCAN has produced over 730,000 non-medical masks.
  • Health and safety measures in all institutions

    Integrated Risk Management Framework (IRMF)

    There are five risk levels and here is what they mean:

    COVID-19 in the Communty

    Low Risk (Green)

    Caution Threshold

    Moderate Risk (Yellow)

    COVID-19 at CSC Facility

    Moderate-High Risk (Orange)

    High Risk (Red)

    Management Early Response Committee (MERC) is convened at least every two weeks for all regions. Local public health and PHAC are engaged to help make recommendations on any changes to risk levels. The local institutional health and safety committee meets to review IPC measures and share information.

    Sites may be at a different risk levels depending on the local circumstances. Heightened measures are in place for institutions experiencing an outbreak.
