February 5 , 2024

This content is a message to Correctional Service Canada (CSC) staff from CSC's Commissioner.

Saturday, February 10 marks Lunar New Year. This event is celebrated by billions from many cultures around the world, such as:

  • Chinese
  • South Korean
  • Vietnamese

  • Malaysian

  • Indonesian

In Chinese culture, this Lunar New Year marks the start of a year of the dragon.

I wish those of you celebrating great happiness and prosperity!

Improving internal communications

Efficient internal communication is crucial in an organization. In recent years, the Communications and Engagement (C&E) sector at NHQ has been working to improve how we communicate with employees, both those working in administrative settings and those on the front-line.

The C&E sector launched a survey to better understand your needs and preferences when it comes to internal communications. This will help us as an organization to focus on what works and develop new tools to communicate more effectively with employees.

I encourage you to fill out the anonymous survey by February 27.

Your thoughts are important and will help us shape the future of communications at CSC.

Psychology Month

Every February, we recognize and show appreciation for the important role psychologists play in our lives.

I would like to extend thanks to all psychologists at CSC for their dedication to providing quality care and promoting positive change. Thank you for all that you do for incarcerated populations, the communities, and the work environment.
