Commissioner's update for offenders and their families: March 18, 2025

March 20 is International Day of La Francophonie. This day celebrates the French language and Francophone culture across Canada and the many French-speaking communities around the world. It is never too late to learn more about the French culture and language.

March 21 is International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. This is an opportunity to take part in positive discussions on how we can create a culture of inclusion and respect. While much progress has been made, let us reflect on the experiences of Black and Indigenous Peoples, racialized communities, and religious minorities in Canada, as many continue to face racism and discrimination every day.

It is each of our responsibility to be open to listening and learning from others.
