Commissioner's update for or offenders and their families: January 19, 2026
This content is a message to federal offenders and their families from Correctional Service Canada's (CSC's) Commissioner.
I am happy to share with you another drawing that was submitted last month.
On January 24, we are celebrating International Day of Education, a day that recognizes the positive benefits of having access to education.
At CSC, there are a lot of ways for you to further your learning such as:
- in a classroom
- through a digital education platform
- in a quiet space like a library
Please talk with CSC’s teachers or CORCAN instructors to find out about the opportunities available to you through CSC’s education programs.
I want to remind you that education gives you opportunities for skill development and personal growth that will help with your reintegration.
Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.
