Escape from Collins Bay Institution – Minimum-security unit

January 23, 2016 – Kingston, Ontario – Correctional Service Canada

On January 23, 2016 during the 11:15 a.m. count in the minimum-security unit at Collins Bay Institution, staff members discovered that Marc Leroux was not accounted for.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Joint Forces Penitentiary Squad and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.

Marc Leroux is 50 years old, measures 175 cm (5’ 9”) in height and weighs 80 kg (177 lbs). He has a medium complexion, brown eyes and brown hair. He is currently serving a sentence of 2 years for Failure to Comply with a Condition Order and Break and Enter.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Marc Leroux is asked to contact police.

CSC will investigate the circumstances of this incident and is working with the police to locate the offender as quickly as possible.

CSC has given the police all of the information available to help arrest the inmate.
