Recapture of inmate from Collins Bay Institution – Minimum-security unit

January 26, 2016 – Kingston, Ontario – Correctional Service Canada

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on January 25, 2016, inmate Marc Leroux was apprehended by the Kingston Police Force.

This inmate had been unlawfully at large from the minimum-security unit at Collins Bay Institution, since January 23, 2016.

CSC is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Ensuring the safety and security of institutions, staff, and public remains the highest priority in the operations of the federal correctional system.
