Death of an inmate at Pacific Institution

March 11, 2016 – Abbotsford, British Columbia – Correctional Service Canada
On March 10, 2016, Gary Martin Brush, an inmate at Pacific Institution, died at a local hospital in Abbotsford.
At the time of his death, Mr. Brush, 75 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence since July 20, 1995 for Sexual Assault, Theft, Mischief, Assault, Threats of Violence, Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Utter Threat to Cause Harm/Death.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
