Lockdown at Bowden Institution - Minimum security unit

March 10, 2016 – Innisfail, Alberta – Correctional Service Canada
On March 10, 2016, at about 8:00 a.m., a lockdown was put in place in the minimum security unit at Bowden Institution as a precautionary measure after some inmates showed symptoms associated with influenza.
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is working with health authorities in order to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
Visits have been suspended in the minimum security unit.
The safety and security of the institutions is the CSC’s primary concern. Normal operations will resume as soon as it is considered safe to do so.
