On April 24, 2016, at 9:00 p.m., three packages containing drugs and tobacco were seized outside the perimeter of Dorchester Penitentiary, a medium security federal penitentiary. The contraband seized included tobacco, hashish, nicotine patches and fentanyl patches. The total estimated institutional value of this seizure is over $63,000.

CSC is strengthening measures to prevent contraband from entering its institutions in order to help ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone. CSC also works in partnership with the police to take action against those who attempt to introduce contraband into correctional institutions.
