Escape from Joyceville Institution - Minimum-security unit

June 8, 2016 – Kingston, Ontario – Correctional Service Canada
On June 8, 2016 during the 4:00 p.m. count in the minimum-security unit at Joyceville Institution, staff members discovered that Roger Strome was not accounted for.
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Ontario Provincial Police Joint Forces Penitentiary Squad and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.
Roger Strome is 44 years-old, measures 173 cm (5’8”) in height and weighs 72 kg (159 lbs). He has a fair complexion, blue eyes and brown hair. He has a tattoo of a rose on the upper right arm. He is currently serving a sentence of 10 years years, 3 months, 15 days for 74 counts of property related offences including: Break and Enter, Possession Property Obtained by Crime and theft.
Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Roger Strome is asked to contact police.
CSC will investigate the circumstances of this incident and is working with the police to locate the offender as quickly as possible.
CSC has given the police all of the information available to help arrest the inmate.
