Death of an inmate at Collins Bay Institution - Minimum-security unit

On July 21, 2016, Christopher Leach, an inmate at Collins Bay Institution died at the regional hospital in Bath, Ontario.
At the time of his death, Mr. Leach, 58 years-old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence, since September 19, 1997, for second degree murder.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
