Recapture of inmate from Saskatchewan Penitentiary - Minimum security unit

October 4, 2016 – Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – Correctional Service Canada
At approximately 6:45 a.m. on October 4, 2016 inmate Roger Joseph Gillet was apprehended by the Prince Albert Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
This inmate had been unlawfully at large from the minimum security unit at Saskatchewan Penitentiary, since September 30, 2016.
CSC is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Ensuring the safety and security of institutions, staff, and public remains the highest priority in the operations of the federal correctional system.
