Death of an inmate at Regional Psychiatric Centre

November 24, 2016 – Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Correctional Service Canada

On November 23, 2016, Thomas Henry Settee, an inmate from the Regional Psychiatric Centre died while in our custody.

Emergency services were called. The offender was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:30 p.m.

At the time of his death, Mr. Settee, 73 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence since March 22, 1968 for Non-Capital Murder, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Robbery.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
