Change of Command Ceremonies in the Pacific region

December 21, 2016 – Abbotsford and Agassiz, British Columbia – Correctional Service Canada
On December 20 and 21, 2016 the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) held Change of Command ceremonies at Mountain Institution, Pacific Institution and Fraser Valley Institution. These occasions marked the changes in command from the respective outgoing Wardens to the incoming Wardens. The incoming Wardens are:
Mr. Shawn Huish, Warden, Pacific Institution
Mr. Mark Noon-Ward, Warden, Mountain Institution
Mr. Sav Bains, Warden, Fraser Valley Institution
The ceremonies reinforce the responsibility of leadership in the role of Warden. It represents the symbolic passing of responsibility, authority, and accountability from one correctional leader to another.
These ceremonies are an important tradition for CSC. They reaffirm the incoming leader’s pledge to support CSC’s mission and contribute to the safety and security of the public, employees and offenders.
