Death of an inmate at Pacific Institution

February 1, 2017 – Abbotsford, British Columbia – Correctional Service Canada
On January 27, 2017, Thomas Taylor, an inmate from Pacific Institution died while in our custody.
At the time of his death, Mr Taylor, 72 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence for Second Degree Murder since March 9, 2001.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
