Death of an inmate at Atlantic Institution

April 27, 2017 – Renous, New Brunswick – Correctional Service Canada

On April 24, 2017, Guy Langlois, an inmate from Atlantic Institution died while in our custody.

Emergency services were called. The offender was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at approximately 3:30 p.m.

At the time of his death, Mr. Langlois, 38 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence for Second Degree Murder since October 5, 2000.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
