The Correctional Service of Canada announces beginning of nomination period for the 19th Annual National Ron Wiebe Restorative Justice Award

The Correctional Service of Canada’s Restorative Justice and Victim Services Division is pleased to announce that it is now accepting nominations for the 2017 National Ron Wiebe Restorative Justice Award.
Members of the public are invited to nominate Canadian individuals who:
demonstrate, through their work or lifestyle, ways of transforming human relations;
enable and promote communication and healing between people who have been affected by crime or conflict, whether they are victims, offenders, colleagues, family, or neighbours.
The award is open to all Canadians who model restorative justice principles in the service of justice and peace.
The deadline for submitting nominations is June 30, 2017.
The 19th Annual Ron Wiebe Award will be presented on November 20, 2017 at the National Restorative Justice Symposium in Ottawa, Ontario, as part of Restorative Justice Week.

Correctional Service of Canada’s Restorative Opportunities Program offers people who have been harmed by a crime, either directly or indirectly, a chance to communicate with the offender who caused the harm.
