Death of an inmate from Bath Institution

May 8, 2017 – Kingston, Ontario – Correctional Service Canada

On May 6, 2017, David Gagnier, an inmate from Bath Institution died while in our custody.

At the time of his death, Mr. Gagnier, 60 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence for Attempted Murder and Second Degree Murder since October 12, 1976.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
