Escape and Recapture of Inmates from Willow Cree Healing Lodge

May 29, 2017 – Duck Lake, Saskatchewan – Correctional Service Canada
On May 28, 2017 staff members at Willow Cree Healing Lodge, a minimum security federal institution, observed that Brian Bergey and Joseph Wesley had left the property without authorization and returned.
They were apprehended by CSC staff members.
CSC is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Ensuring the safety and security of institutions, staff, and public remains the highest priority in the operations of the federal correctional system.
