Death of an inmate at Pacific Institution

July 1, 2017 – Abbotsford, British Columbia – Correctional Service Canada

On July 1, 2017, David Francis Giles an inmate from Pacific Institution died at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

At the time of his death, Mr. Giles, 67 years old, had been serving a sentence of 11 years, 1 month for Conspiracy to Commit (x2) and Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking since March 31, 2017.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
