Escape and Recapture at Kwìkwèxwelhp Healing Village

July 25, 2017 – Harrison Mills, British Columbia – Correctional Service Canada

On July 24 2017, at approximately 14:45 p.m. while staff members were conducting a perimeter check, an inmate was seen walking outside the perimeter of the Healing Village. Following a brief pursuit, Timothy Dafoe was apprehended by correctional officers.

An emergency count was ordered to ensure that all inmates were accounted for.

Correctional Service of Canada is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
