Death of an inmate at Pacific Institution

August 2, 2017 – Abbotsford, British Columbia – Correctional Service Canada

On August 1, 2017, Leonard Louis Wright, an inmate from Pacific Institution died at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

At the time of his death, Mr. Wright, 66 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence for second degree murder since February 4, 1992.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
