Death of an inmate at Pacific Institution
News Release
On December 16, 2017, William Leslie Fowler, an inmate from Pacific Institution died while in our custody of apparent natural causes following an illness.
Emergency services were called.
At the time of his death, Mr. Fowler, 62 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence for second degree murder since December 12, 1996.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
