Death of an inmate at Pacific Institution

February 15, 2018 – Abbotsford, British Columbia – Correctional Service Canada

On February 12, 2018, Paul Ernest Morgan, an inmate from Pacific Institution died while in our custody.

At the time of his death, Mr. Morgan, 63 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence for non-capital murder, kidnap unlawfully confine, and other offences since January 11, 1974.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances and contact the police and the coroner if required.
