Death of an inmate from Cowansville Institution

On April 16, 2018, Mr. Pierre Morin, an inmate from Cowansville Institution died while in our custody of apparent natural causes following an illness.

At the time of his death, Mr. Morin, 70 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence since May 24^th, 1985 for first degree murder, obstruct justice, theft and conspire to commit indictable offense.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances and contact the police and the coroner if required.
