Death of an inmate from Joyceville Institution – Minimum-security unit

On May 1, 2018, Danny Miller, an inmate from the minimum-security unit at Joyceville Institution died while in our custody of apparent natural causes following an illness.
At the time of his death, Mr. Miller, 53 years old, had been serving a sentence of three years and nine months for Disguise with Intent and Robbery since June 13, 2016.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances and contact the police and the coroner if required.
