Death of an inmate from Federal Training Centre

On July 15, 2018, Tommy Pelletier-Renaud, an inmate from the Federal Training Centre, died while in our custody.

At the time of his death, Mr. Pelletier-Renaud, 20 years old, had been serving a sentence of three years for robbery, discharge firearm reckless life, aggravated assault, possession of property obtained by crime and disguise with intent since May 7, 2018.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.

The police and the coroner have been notified, and as in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
