End of Lockdown at Drummond Institution

August 2, 2018 – Drummond, Québec – Correctional Service Canada
The lockdown put in place at Drummond Institution on July 29, 2018 has ended. The institution is gradually resuming its normal operations.
Since Sunday, unauthorized items and contraband have been seized. The items seized included prescribed medication, approximately 6 grams of unidentified illicit substances, 2 grams of tobacco and 1 gram of hashish.
Correctional Service Canada (CSC) is strengthening measures to prevent the entry of contraband into its institutions in order to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone. CSC also works in partnership with the police to take action against those who attempt to have contraband brought into correctional institutions.
Visits to the institution have resumed.
