Recapture of Inmate from Mission Institution – Minimum security unit

At approximately 5:30 am on September 4, 2018 inmate Michael Douglas Sheets was apprehended by the Saanich Police Department.

This inmate had been unlawfully at large from the minimum-security unit at Mission Institution, since September 1, 2018.

CSC is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Ensuring the safety and security of institutions, staff, and public remains the highest priority in the operations of the federal correctional system.
