Death of an inmate from Atlantic Institution

February 19, 2019 – Moncton, New Brunswick – Correctional Service Canada
On February 18, 2019, Calvin Clifford Kenny, an inmate from Atlantic Institution died while in our custody.
At the time of his death, Mr. Kenny, 27 years old, had been serving a sentence of 16 years, 9 months and 20 days for offences including Manslaughter, Forcible Confinement, Arson and Armed Robbery since February 11, 2014.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
As per CSC policy, details of Mr. Kenny’s death are not being released at this time. The RCMP have issued a News Release. A link to the RCMP News Releases is provided below.
