Death of an inmate from Warkworth Institution

April 22, 2019 – Warkworth, Ontario – Correctional Service Canada

On April 21, 2019, an inmate from Warkworth Institution died while in our custody.

At the time of his death, Mr. Trevor Darroch, 37 years old, had been serving a sentence of 2 years, and 10 days for Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Operate Motor Vehicle While Disqualified, Possession of Scheduled I/II Purpose of Trafficking X 2 since February 28, 2018.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
