Death of an inmate from Bath Institution

On May 23, 2019, Walter Floyd Matchett, an inmate from Bath Institution died while in our custody.

At the time of his death, Mr. Matchett, 69 years old, had been serving an indeterminate sentence since November 14, 2001 for Sexual Assault.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.

Correctional Service Canada policy requires that the coroner be notified.
