Apprehension of inmate from Dorchester Penitentiary – Minimum-security unit

September 6, 2019 – Dorchester, New Brunswick – Correctional Service Canada

At approximately 2:45 p.m. on September 6, 2019 inmate Jack Woods was apprehended by the Tantallon detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). 

This inmate is in police custody and in the process of being returned to federal custody.

Correctional Service Canada (CSC) is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Ensuring the safety and security of institutions, staff, and public remains the highest priority in the operations of the federal correctional system.
