Death of an inmate from Archambault Institution – Medium-security unit

On June 19, 2020, Alcide Dufault, an inmate from Archambault Institution, died while in our custody of apparent natural causes.

At the time of his death, Mr. Dufault had been serving a sentence of two years and six months for invitation to sexual touching and sexual interference since January 29, 2020.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
