Death of an inmate from Mountain Institution

November 29, 2021 – Agassiz, British Columbia – Correctional Service Canada

On November 25, 2021, Keith Raymond Tyler, an inmate from Mountain Institution, died while in our custody.

At the time of death, the inmate had been serving an indeterminate sentence for second degree murder since January 9, 1984.

The inmate’s next of kin has been notified.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
