Death of an inmate from Pacific Institution

March 30, 2022 – Abbotsford, British Columbia – Correctional Service Canada

On March 27, 2022, Roy Dalen, an inmate from Pacific Institution, died while in our custody.

At the time of his death, the inmate had been serving an indeterminate sentence for first degree murder since July 5, 2006.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
