Death of an inmate from Bath Institution

February 2, 2026 – Bath, Ontario – Correctional Service Canada
On January 31, 2026, Patrick Conway, an inmate from Bath Institution, died while in our custody.
At the time of death, the inmate was 49 years old and had been serving a 3-year, 5-month sentence, since June 24, 2024.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified.
In collaboration with the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), the Joint Forces Penitentiary Squad and the Ontario Provincial Police are currently investigating Mr. Conway’s death.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, CSC will conduct a review of the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
