Escape from Saskatchewan Penitentiary, Minimum-Security Unit

September 7, 2026 – Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – Correctional Service Canada

On September 7, 2026, inmate Scott Sargefield failed to return to the minimum-security unit at Saskatchewan Penitentiary following an authorized temporary absence.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Prince Albert Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and a warrant for the inmate’s arrest has been issued.

Scott Sargefield is 53 years old, measures 165 cm (5′4″) in height and weighs 69 kg (115 lbs). The inmate has a fair complexion, blue eyes and grey hair.

The inmate is currently serving a sentence of 2 years, 1 month, 19 days for theft under $5000 and uttering threats of death/harm.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Scott Sargefield is asked to contact the Prince Albert Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

CSC will investigate the circumstances of this incident and is working with the police to locate the offender as quickly as possible.

CSC has given the police all of the information available to help arrest the inmate.
