Escape from the minimum-security unit from Collins Bay Institution

September 24, 2026 – Kingston, Ontario – Correctional Service Canada

On September 24, 2026, during a formal count, staff members at the minimum-security unit from Collins Bay Institution, a multi-level security federal institution, discovered that Mason Jenkins was not accounted for.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Kingston Police department and a warrant for the inmate’s arrest has been issued.

Mason Jenkins is 49 years old, stands 175 cm (5’9”) tall and weighs 116 kg (256 lbs). He has a fair complexion, brown eyes and a shaved head.  

The inmate is serving a life sentence for first-degree murder and possession of a Schedule I/II substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Mason Jenkins is asked to contact the police.

CSC has given the police all of the information available to help arrest the inmate.
