Correctional Service of Canada Prayer

Eternal Spirit, who gives life to the world and all the human family,

You have entrusted us with the care and protection of all people.

Grant that we may always acknowledge the inherent human dignity of those we serve, in institutions and in the community, even as we recognize this within ourselves.

And we remember that our own sense of self has been, and continues to be, shaped by our connections one with another.

Keep us ever mindful of these things so that we may temper justice with mercy and exercise care and custody with compassion.

May our intentions and our actions lead us to nurture healing and peace through our work and in all those we encounter.

Grant us grace, courage, and strength equal to every need, and may we know the peace and presence of the Divine.
