Ottawa, Ontario – 27 February, 2017
Dr. Marc Fortin, ADM (Science and Technology) and CEO Defence Research and Development Canada, made the following statement.
“I was pleased to host today the first workshop of the new Institute for Research in Defence and Security (IRDS). With the IRDS, Defence Research and Development Canada is creating new networking opportunities to increase awareness of defence and security challenges in Canada.
This first session held in Toronto gave defence scientists, Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members and 85 academic researchers in the area of human performance, a chance to explore how science and technology can bring the CAF to the next level. A call for research proposals in this domain will be sought soon through an open competitive process.”
