The Government of Canada has an ambitious plan to revitalize the Canadian economy. It is a plan based on the notion that when you have an economy that works for the middle class, you have a country that works for everyone.

Today, the Finance Minister, Bill Morneau, met with the government’s new Advisory Council on Economic Growth to help develop a strong Growth Strategy that will directly benefit the middle class—and those working hard to join it.

The Council has brought together fourteen of the best minds—armed with global perspective and wide-ranging experience—to tackle the pressing challenges faced by Canadians. These bright women and men will bring forward bold ideas to make sure that our children and grandchildren inherit a Canada more prosperous and sustainable than the one we know today.

The Council has been tasked with finding solutions to a number of key challenges facing Canada, including:
