Eric Wildhaber

Backgrounder

Mr. Eric Wildhaber has over 20 years of experience in procurement, customs, and trade remedies law, over the course of his Public Service career which began in 1998 (Department of Foreign and International Trade, Trade Law Bureau).

Mr. Wildhaber has had senior legal counsel and executive responsibilities for the Public Servants Disclosure Protection Tribunal, the Competition Tribunal, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, the Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada, and the Occupational Health and Safety Tribunal Canada where he acted as Executive Director & General Counsel and coordinating Appeals Officer (by Designation of the Minister of Labour). He has also served as the Secretary of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal.

Mr. Wildhaber holds degrees in History (B.A., University of Ottawa), Civil Law (LL.B., Université de Montréal), and Common Law (J.D., University of Ottawa, Common Law Section). He is an alumnus of the Parliamentary Internship Programme (1993-1994, Canadian Political Science Association), and has been recognized for various achievements, including in leadership, innovation, service excellence, and teamwork (2000 Head of the Public Service Award for Group Achievement, member of team). He has lectured on tendering and public procurement law at the University of Ottawa (Section de Droit civil), and is a member of the Committee for access to the profession of the Barreau du Québec.
