Biographical Notes – Maureen C. Jensen
Backgrounder
Ms. Maureen Jensen has been a leader in the investment industry and securities regulation for more than 20 years and is currently a Director of Franco-Nevada Corporation, a public governor of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) – a private, non-governmental organization in the United States that acts as a self-regulatory organization (SRO) and is the Chair of the Board of Directors at Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments (OBSI). She also sits on the Capital Markets Institute Advisory Committee at the Rotman School of Business.
Ms. Jensen was previously the Chair and Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC). Before joining the OSC, Ms. Jensen was SVP, Surveillance and Compliance at the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC).
Prior to the formation of IIROC in 2008, Ms. Jensen was President and CEO of Market Regulation Services Inc., the independent national market regulation services provider for Canadian equity markets. She has also held senior regulatory and business positions at the Toronto Stock Exchange, and had a career in the mining industry, holding both executive and technical management positions with several resource companies.
Ms. Jensen is a Registered Professional Geoscientist (P. Geo), holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors, hold the designation GCB.D and has a Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa).
